Marylou Martin

CREDENTIALS: MSN, RNC-NIC, CKC

Marylou is currently employed as a clinical nurse specialist/nurse educator for the areas of OB-GYN, NICU, pediatrics and PICU. She has over 45 years of experience in the perinatal/neonatal field, is trained as a perinatal/neonatal nurse practitioner and has been certified in NICU nursing for over 30 years. Marylou is a past board member of the National Perinatal Association (NPA), past chairperson of the NPA State Forum, past S.C. Perinatal Association board member, S.C. State Forum representative and member of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN), the Academy of Neonatal Nursing (ANN) and the Transcultural Nursing Society (TCNS). She is also the recipient of the 2005 and 2017 NPA Transcultural Award.

Marylou is a co-developer of the NPA Transcultural Training Program, co-author of Psychosocial Support Guidelines for NICU Families and is currently working on NPA NAS Guidelines. She is a frequent speaker on transcultural issues, transcultural perinatal bereavement, psychosocial support of families in the NICU, and NAS and certification review classes at local, state, national and international conferences.
