Course Description

This program is designed to support today's nurse working in a complex, crazy world. From the bedside and beyond, the expectations of nurses caring for the medical-surgical patient have grown exponentially! This 2-day seminar provides the necessary skills that nurses need in order to meet the expectations and manage the madness!

Program Learning Outcomes

This program prepares the learner to:

  • Understand the changing role of today’s nurse caring for the medical-surgical patient.
  • Incorporate components of high-quality, effective and safe patient care into practice.
  • Relate the med-surg pathophysiological basis of various disease states to the nursing assessment, planning,
    implementation and evaluation process.
  • Identify strategies to meet the demands of an increasingly complex healthcare world.


Sign-in begins at 7:30 am. Each day includes a one-hour lunch (on your own), as well as a morning and afternoon break of 15 minutes each. The order of lectures presented and break times may vary according to speaker preference.
