Eric Wolak

CREDENTIALS: DNP, MHA, RN, NEA-BC

Dr. Wolak is an accomplished healthcare executive with over two decades of experience in nursing leadership, clinical operations and strategic healthcare management. Currently serving as the chief operating officer and chief nursing officer at UNC Health Chatham, Dr. Wolak oversees daily operations and strategic execution for a 25-bed critical-access hospital, driving quality, patient experience and financial performance. Under his leadership, the hospital has achieved recognition for excellence in patient communication and has been consistently ranked among the top in patient experience. Dr. Wolak has spearheaded initiatives that doubled surgical and imaging capacities, improved emergency department throughput and revitalized rural maternity care.

In addition to his executive roles, Dr. Wolak holds adjunct faculty appointments at the University of North Carolina at both the School of Nursing and School of Public Health.

Dr. Wolak earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Washington and a Master of Science in Nursing from UNC Greensboro. Certified as a Nurse Executive-Advanced (NEA-BC), Dr. Wolak exemplifies a commitment to excellence in healthcare leadership and community service.
