Jeremy M. Johnson


Jeremy has spent the last decade teaching test prep courses as well as a variety of lectures on critical care and emergency nursing in hospitals and nursing schools. He spent several years as an adjunct professor teaching anatomy and physiology, and found his passion for helping new nurses transition into the critical care environment. This passion helped Jeremy lay the conceptual groundwork for a “nursing residency” program, which helps transition new nurses to the critical care environment. Jeremy has spent the majority of his career working at the bedside in various emergency and critical care settings, as well as obtaining two postgraduate degrees in various fields of biology. He has also completed research and graduate work at the Arthur C. Guyton Research Center in the fields of physiology and biophysics. In addition to lecturing, Jeremy has been a reviewer of several critical care textbooks and contributor to numerous medical and nursing publications in the area of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine. Jeremy continues to have an active practice as a staff nurse in the Adult Emergency Department of Mississippi’s only Level 1 trauma hospital, the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Baptist Medical Center. Jeremy brings clinical and academic experience and knowledge to his lectures. He is also known for his ability to communicate complex physiology and anatomy in a humorous and easy to learn manner.
