Alitha Jones

CREDENTIALS: MSN/Ed., RN, CCRN-K, FCCM, LNC

Alitha has served as a nurse for nearly 20 years. She practiced in a variety of medical-surgical nursing units for 7 years prior to transitioning into critical care (ICU/ER) in 2010. She functions as an instructor for various life-support courses: BLS, ACLS, PALS and ENPC. She also holds provider certifications for TNCC, FCCM and NRP. She is currently enrolled in the BSN-DNP advanced emergency nursing (FNP & AG-ACNP dual role) program with the cardiovascular subspecialty via the University of South Alabama’s College of Nursing. She works in Dallas, TX, for Parkland Health & Hospital System, where she is a lead member on a research project for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She also works for Western Governors University as a simulation lab instructor with a focus on medical-surgical and critical-care nursing. Recently, she has helped develop two non-profit organizations that focus on inner city youth and the development of entry-level healthcare training programs.
