David Gueldner

David is a seasoned nursing professional with over two decades of experience in emergency and flight nursing, clinical education and leadership. Currently serving as a nurse residency specialist at SSM Health Saint Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO, David is dedicated to mentoring new nurses and enhancing clinical practice through evidence-based education.

David began his healthcare journey as an EMT and paramedic before earning his BSN from Western Governors University. His diverse clinical background includes roles as a flight nurse, ED manager, trauma nurse and simulation coordinator. He holds multiple certifications, including CEN, CPEN and CFRN, reflecting his commitment to excellence in emergency care.

A passionate educator and speaker, David has presented at national and state conferences on topics ranging from pediatric toxicology to obstetric bias in emergency settings. He is an active member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), where he has held leadership roles at both state and national levels.

David’s career is marked by a deep commitment to patient safety, professional development and community service. His contributions continue to shape the future of emergency nursing and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.
