Leslie has nearly 25 years of experience as a clinical nurse and educator. She received her BSN degree from George Mason University and her MSN from the University of Phoenix. She has held adjunct positions for Strayer University and the College of Southern Maryland, teaching in the traditional classroom setting along with clinical instruction. Leslie currently serves as a clinical nurse within Inova Heart and Vascular Institute in the cardiothoracic and vascular intensive care unit. She also serves in the role of a clinical educator, providing education regarding cardiothoracic and vascular topics. She also continues to be a charge nurse, an active preceptor for new staff and nursing conference organizer. In addition, Leslie has expanded her nursing practice by becoming certified as a personal trainer. This has allowed her to provide preventative education to the community regarding healthy lifestyles and cardiovascular disease.
