Susan Kill

Susan Rieger Kill is a graduate of Georgetown University, where she received her BSN in 1978. She obtained her Masters in Nursing and Health Systems Administration (MSN) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2007.

Susan currently works at Rockdale Medical Center, and has a broad scope of clinical and organizational management experience. For the past 13 years, she has served as a director of nursing for critical care, medical, surgical, interventional and cardiac telemetry, and emergency services in several metropolitan healthcare facilities. She has also managed neuroscience, orthopedic, general medicine and general surgical units. Her administrative and operational experience includes the management of a critical care medicine Advanced Practice Provider program, emergency management, facility planning and multiple renovation projects, e-ICU and telemedicine initiatives, and the management of a customer service department. She is experienced with regulatory requirements, quality and safety initiatives, value-based purchasing, Magnet accreditation and physician relationships and engagement. Susan participated as the Subject Matter Expert for the master’s level Healthcare Business and Financial Management course at Western Governors University. She lectures for the WellStar College of Nursing and Health Sciences RN Re-Entry Program on the topics of neuroscience and nursing management. Servant and transformational leadership principles have strongly influenced her own leadership style.

Susan is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Nurse Executive, Advanced-Board Certified (NEA-BC). She is also a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) through the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing (ABNN). Susan is a member of the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
