Carrie Bennett

CREDENTIALS: MS, RN, CNS-BC

Carrie found her calling in geriatric nursing over 15 years ago while working as a nursing assistant at a VA Hospital in Iowa. She has worked for over ten years as an RN with the acute care older adult population. She received her BSN from the University of Iowa and her MSN from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Carrie has worked as a staff nurse on a general medicine/geriatrics unit, a clinical research nurse for complex rheumatologic diseases and, most recently, as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Geriatrics. Carrie currently works as the Gerontological Clinical Nurse Specialist at a community hospital in Madison, WI, where she is responsible for providing consultative services to complex older adult inpatients, managing the Hospital Elder Life Program and running the hospital’s Geriatric Resource Nurse program. Carrie has planned and presented a number of seminars, workshops and multi-day courses in geriatric care, and has been described by attendees as “engaging,” “well-spoken” and “clinically relevant.”
