Brenda French

CREDENTIALS: MSN, RN-BC, CBIS

Brenda brings nearly 40 years of nursing experience to continuing education with the last eight years focused in rehabilitation. She earned her BSN and MSN in nursing from Troy State University in Alabama.

Currently Brenda is working as the rehabilitation staff educator and program director for BLS/ACLS in Richmond, VA. She is also a certified faculty member at the University of Phoenix nursing program. Brenda serves on the board of directors for the Virginia Association of Rehabilitation Nursing. In 2014, she was awarded the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) educator award. She served on the ARN Conference Committee in 2014. In 2015, she served as a volunteer for the Rehabilitation Nursing Certification Board as a CRRN audit panelist. Brenda has presented at local, state and national nursing conferences.

She has served as a reviewer for Rehabilitation Nursing and has co-authored chapters for books to include obstetrical, veteran healthcare and nursing certification issues. Brenda is passionate about certification and after joining the staff at her hospital, the CRRN numbers have grown larger than any other certification specialty. She is a veterans health administration certified coach and mentor, a certified brain injury specialist and is board certified in nursing professional development. Healthcare and humor are her favorite topics to speak on, and she believes that a laugh a day will keep sickness away.
