Cyndi Zarbano works in two Twin Cities hospitals in a total of four Intensive Care Units. Abbott Northwestern Hospital is her primary employer and has been ranked by the U.S. News and World Report as one of America's best hospital's since 2002 in the following areas: Cardiac, Heart surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Digestive disorders, Geriatric care and Orthopedics. In 2009 Abbott Northwestern received Magnet Designation status for their nursing care, making it one of only 316 hospitals nationwide. Her second employer is Fairview Southdale Hospital which has been awarded 5-Star rating in 15 areas including critical care. Both hospitals are level 3 trauma centers.

            In 2008 Cyndi took her legal nurse certification exam and opened her business Clinical Review: Certified Legal Nurse Consultants. She has acted as a testifying expert, as well as a nurse consultant on a wide variety of cases. Recently she completed her certification as a Nurse Life Care Planner.

            Cyndi began her nursing career in 1995 after being commissioned by the US Navy and receiving a stipend to complete her nursing education. She has ten years of Naval experience and left service in 2001 as a Lieutenant Commander (0-4). Previous degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology. She worked as a Security Counselor with Mentally Ill and Dangerous persons incarcerated at the Minnesota Security Hospital prior to her nursing career. When returning from the Navy, she returned to that facility for greater than 2 years in the role of Lead Psychiatric Nurse on a 22-bed male unit.

            Currently cyndi has completed 28 credits in a graduate program for family nurse practitioner at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She loves teaching and also speaks on nursing topics nationally for other companies. She lives in southern Minnesota with her husband and three cats.
