Melissa Pollard DNP-c, MS, RN-BC, APRN, CEN, CCRN (inactive)

Melissa comes to Med-Ed with 25 years nursing experience, including cardiac critical care, emergency nursing, family nurse practitioner, and as a sexual assault nurse examiner. She divides her time between educational roles, working in professional staff development, as university faculty, and providing patient care. She is an active ACLS instructor, co-chairs her facility's code committee, co-chaired the initiative to start the rapid response team, and led the multidisciplinary team to improve coordinated sepsis management. Melissa is currently completing a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Educational Leadership from Case Western Reserve University, and is involved in research with simulation, team training and education development. She has spoken regionally, nationally and internationally on a variety of topics including incorporating evidence based practice, applied pharmacology, simulation, EKG interpretation, sepsis and quality improvement processes.
